The information you are requesting for free I had to pay to get. I just received the 2013 price guide ($51 including shipping)(VamsandMore website). I don't mind offering a price here and there, but you have an extensive list and are also requesting pop info. You can get the population info by going to the PCGS, NGC and ANACs sites and registering. They each have a tab for population reports that also includes varieties.

I'll give you the first one for "free" ... (caveat is I'm at work and the 2013 price guide is at home, so this is from my 2011 pdf file).

Thank You for the reply. I have just purchased the vamsandmore priceguide.

How do they get to those prices? Price guides are just that Guides the actual price is what someone will pay for it. I wonder if the coins sell at around the price guide or not.

I'm not into flipping. Its just I don't want to pay to much for a coin. $600 for a 22a? I don't know

The guide is derived by recording known sales of vams (EBay, Teletrade, Heritage, and private party sales).

The 2013 guide shows the 22A in AU 58 selling at $700.

On the 1883-O 22A, I believe the value is only as good as the demand is out pacing the inventory available. E clash coins are a pretty hot subset to VAM collecting so I'd imagine the value to be pretty strong for quite awhile.

Other side of the VAM world of collecting, there are a lot of VAMers that refuse to pay a premium for a VAM they want, they will keep searching common coins until they find one themselves. So not as many VAM buyers as there are collectors.

Here is a direct quote from vamworld.com October 2011 auction lot #39013 MS62 graded by PCGS

The 1883-O VAM 22A is not just any "E on Reverse" variety â€" It's in a class all by itself! As the ultra-rare cousin of the VAM 36A which has long been collected as part of the set, the VAM 22A is extremely valuable in all grades. In fact, the frosty PCGS MS62 offered here was originally purchased for $2200, which is about 50 times the price that a non-variety 1883-O would bring. Who says VAM collecting doesn't pay! And its rarity speaks for itself: Five MS63's and four MS62's make up the top nine PCGS specimens, so this one is, in effect, tied for fifth best.
--end quote--

It sold for $1462.50

There are currently at least 25 coins in PCGS population as good or better than yours, add in ANACS, NGC, ICG, SEGS, VAMslab and raw examples, probably only about 300-500 have been found so far, and I'd bet least 1000 people collecting "E" clash VAMs - so as to value? If it's a really nice "eye appealing" Morgan I'd ask $900 retail and take $750+ wholesale, if it's an average looking dollar probably $100-200 less. Did you buy it as such or cherrypick it? That is an attention getter with most VAM collectors for sure!

My sure fire way to market price VAMs is to look to Logan McKechnie (a market leader in VAMs) at http://vamsandmore.com or call him up and ask him what he would pay. He also has some nice inventory.

I buy vams and pay the premium. I collect to hold. I'm not selling just don't want to overpay. I paid retail as listed on vamworld and I did ask Mr.Logan and he said what I paid was a retail. Thats fine with me because I am holding on to it and many more That I have.

I picked up 2 1880-p vam-32A way below retail and in holder 64 (not attributed on label) You can see stong full leter clash in the neck.

Thanks,

Also Keep In Mind All Prices are based on the Coin being in a PCGS Holder. Coins in NGC seem to be a good deal lower then ANACS graded Vams. I think that is due to the fact that John Roberts handles the attribution and is one of the grades. On money coins he is as hard or harder on grades then PCGS. I have been known to Pick Yellow holder-ed Dollars.
