I didnt want to post these on the "from circulation" thread because these came from the reject bin and in the hopper thing. The little baggie and the chain were stuck in the spinning disc part and I'm pretty sure it put the machine out of service because it wasnt working when I tried to use it. The angel coin and the euro were in the reject tray. Earlier that day I found a 5 pence, canadian quarter, 2 canadian dimes and .50 in random US nickels from the reject tray also. It was a pretty great day! all those random freebies, the little austrailian cat/racoon thing and a total of 33 silver dimes.

Quote: ...the little austrailian cat/racoon thing... Australia has no (native) cats, nor raccoons. Feral cats we have in abundance, but they are considered environmental pests that would not be celebrated on coinage. Virtually all Australian native mammals are marsupials, so calling it a "possum-like thing" would not be inaccurate. It is in fact a feathertail glider, a small flying possum the size of a mouse. The Wikipedia article mentions their appearance on the now-obsolete 1 cent coin. Quote: The angel coin... I remember seeing those things advertised in Readers Digest or some similar place; I'd classify it as a mass-marketed "religious good luck token". From memory, I think the angel is supposed to be St Michael the Archangel.

The items in the other picture came from the reject bin except for the chain baggie, that was stuck in the hopper.

Wow, I'm seeing a lot of posts about silver being found in dime boxes. I may have to reconsider roll searching dimes!

Oh, umm... I dont know the model... but it looked like this. There is a spinning rubber disc in there and the chain baggie was caught between that and the metal ring just above it.

Whatever that little creature is... I wouldnt want to have one jump out at me in the dark. I'm sure they are adorable as all get out in real life, but that image on the coin doesn't flatter them. It almost looks like a chupacabra. lol
