I decided I'd get some of my last months purchases photographed, organized and acetone dipped. So I thought I'd share with CCF.

Coins removed now I have bunch of holders that are no good to me anymore. I always dispose of these in a public trash receptacle, so as not to let anyone find them in our trash, advertising rare coins are here! Security is of upmost importance, these were stuffed into a Starbucks cup lid put back on and dumped at the local Starbucks shop later in the day.

The Q-Tips after acetone, some nasty PVC green there, glad it's all gone.

Coins layed out ready to shoot, slabs turned over so I don't spoil any upcoming grading contests. There are over 70 Two centers here getting ready for some close up shots, along with a few Morgans, bust half, Seated half and dimes, old copper Half Cents and large cents! (One can never have too many Two Cent coins.

First time shooting close-up with the new bellows on a Canon 5DmkII DSLR, using tehered remote shooting directly to the laptop. Really like the DSLRremotePro software so far, very nice with the 100mm f/2.8 macro AF lens as the software will let me focus like my telescope on a zoomed in area without touching the camera.

Sorry not the best quality pictures in my post, they were taken with an iPhone.

Hope you enjoyed it.

Why spend $100 on the remote software when Canon provides it for free? Did you get the camera used without the software package?

Hi SuperDave, when you use the acetone, do you soak the coins, or just brush them lightly with a acetone soaked q-tip?

Didn't spend a dime, I'm using it in evaluation mode. I haven't tried the Canon software, and yes I did get it with the camera. DSLRremote Pro is very similar to the astronomy photo control software I use almost nightly, and I have never been a fan of Canon software honestly. Too many issues over the years almost got me into real trouble when on a paid photodhoot with a client, I just don't trust it anymore. Random quits, missing photos, camera disconnects, etc. So far with DSLRremote Pro no issues at all especially in the connection area!

Thanks! We probably already fight it out on ebay, HA, Teletrade, etc. unaware of it!

His pockets are probably deeper too
