Hello Coin Community. Found an old savings bank in the attic and it was full of junk silver, a $5 bill from 1934 some Buffalo nickels, some nice wheaties and a cardboard coin that says

"This check will be honored as a credit to your account. 100c" Anyone know what this is about. Seen this before. It's the third picture I have posted here.

Thanks so much!

Not seen one before, but it is very interesting. I have actually bought paper play money that was cut out of a newspaper 80 years ago. Please take care of it, I suggest placing it into a 2x2 coin holder.

One of your first posts and you have a really interesting item.

to CCF!

I would think that little bank would be collectible too. It's pretty cool!

Thanks for your input and the welcome I will definitely take care of the coin.

The bank is pretty cool. It has individual coin slots for each denomination and a slot for bills as well. From what I understand, these used to be handed out to people when they opened a savings account. You would keep this bank at home, fill it up and then bring it into the bank for deposits. Seen a few of them online for about $40-$50. Cost me that much to get the key made. But seems to have about $100 worth of coins in it.

Forgot to mention the bank had two War Nickels in it. Was pretty excited about that as it was the first time I found one of those!
