I just purchased my first Fugio! Maybe not in the best shape, but its a Fugio!
9.24 grams, 28mm

I purchased it as G. What do you think the grade is?
I think the obverse is a type 15?
I used this link from another thread: http://www.numissociety.com/showthr...-Guide/page2
I also think this obverse is pictured in the " RedBook"; you can see the die crack at about 4-5:00 off the sundial?
I am not sure if the reverse is attributable do to wear?
Any help with attribution and grade would be greatly appreciated!:)

What a beauty, I have always wanted one of these. In terms of the grade, I am unfamiliar with grading these, but I would say G4 seems ok.

The motto, with the low U, definitely gives away obverse 15. That obverse was paired with 4 different reverses: V, K, Y, and H. The wear on your reverse makes it difficult, but the E in WE is too low for reverse H. I think I may see the heavy serifs of the E in ONE that set apart reverse V, but more importantly, the T in UNITED is visible on the "band" at almost exactly 3:00. In K, Y, and H, the T is noticably angled above or below the plane of the letters of WE ARE ONE; only reverse V has the T this parallel. Congrats on your Fugio, and I believe it's a 15-V. Anybody, pull up some pics of these four varieties, like from the Heritage site, and see if you agree.

I also have wanted one of these for a long time but havent yet found the right one. Very pleasing obverse details and I would agree with G4.

Grading Colonials is different than our Classic or Modern coins. Several things have to be taken into account such as strike vs. wear, damage vs. planchet flaws and/or corrosion.
Your coin is VG+ easy.
15-V sounds right :)

Everyone thanks for your comments!

Philadelphian, thanks very much with your help with attribution! Amazing job working with so worn a reverse!

Vermontensium, thanks for the heads up on the grade!

If anyone would like to post their Fugio's on this thread that would be great! I would love to see them!
