Thought I'd share a 1935 Hobo Nickel we sold on ebay awhile back.

I kind of wonder why hobo nickels are worth more than the actual Buffalo nickel itself. You would think that they would lose value after they have been drawn on, but I guess they are considered artwork.

It's more for the value of the art not the coin.

@wilhelm41 nah it was bought long ago. This is one of the original hobo nickels done in the 30's or 40's.

Is there a way to tell if it was done a long in 30's and 40's or recently? And do the original ones go for more money?

Alot of the newer ones seem to sell for alot because of their artistic value. I know this one is old cause it was purchased back in the 70's and was real old then
