Here is my first PCGS slabbed coin and the coin with the lowest mintage currently in my collection. What grade do you think it should have received?

I'm conservatively calling it EF45, although an AU50 slab wouldn't floor me. Primo example either way, and you'd probably have to tempt me with at least an MS63 to replace it.

looks like a solid AU. 53/55. I have a very similar 1833 Half Cent. very nice coin!

on a side note, can someone explain why the 1832 Half Cent with a mintage of 51,000 is so much less in comparison with the value of a 1916 std liberty quarter with a mintage of 52,000.

it just seems to be such a large gap in price.

Demand. There are a whole lot more people interested in SLQ's.

there are plenty of 1832 Half Cents to go around for those interested in them. In addition I don't think this denomination was in that much demand by the 1830's and a lot of these were not circulated all that much. The 1916 quarter on the other hand would have been heavily circulated so high grade specimens bring even more of a premium.

EF45 from PCGS I think this nice Half Cent could grade AU50/53 just as easily.

From PCGS, I'd guess AU53, unless there's luster the photos don't capture, in which case I'd guess AU55.
