I chose something a little different for my type set with this one. Mintage of only 350,000, not the lowest of New Orleans Half Dime mintage, but a tough date in higher grades. I think it's a VG10. ' Half Dime' on the reverse isn't so much wear, as it is a weak strike. Most of Liberty still visible. Boy these coins are tiny.

I'm going to do you one better and call it an F12
as faint as it is, LIBERTY is very much visible
I am bit concerned with the rim at high noon on the reverse, looks scratched(?) and that could detail it

nice type set coin in the grade for sure
awesome, thanks for sharing

First time I've seen that term used; makes sense, though! A grading service sees a problem with a coin (cleaning, rim damage, tooling, etc.) and decides to "detail" it, i.e. put it in a problem slab with a details grade or Genuine designation.

I'm putting together an ANACS submission soon; sure hope they don't decide to "detail" any of my coins!

Oh, I agree with VG-10 for this coin. Color is dark but doesn't appear to be the result of corrosion. The rim scrape is likely acceptable given the relatively low grade. Yep, it's a better date and those are the kind I like to see in a type set. Pretty nice!

VG10 just not quite enough left to make F12 I'm afraid, but oh so close.
