I just created this thread after reading some of the bad experiences that people had experienced from dealers and thought that the other side should be presented. So everyone can write about their positive experiences with dealers as well as recomend them and their business to others on ccf. I will start by recomending Tony Byrne of Byrne coins in Canberra whom I met at the last Petersham coin show. Being young I didn't expect much in the way of hospitality from any of the dealers but was pleasantly surprised by Tony Byrne who helped me pick out quality pieces for a great price and without even asking him gave me a discount.

Good idea.
So when in Brisbane try Hugh at Colonial Coins and Medals in Adelaide St. (Next to Anzac square).

He has always been more than willing to help a newbie like me.

Another +1 for Colonial Coins & Medals. I've found them to be pretty nice.
I've only been to vpcoins once but they were pleasant too.

I'll give Tony Byrne the thumbs up too, he has a lot of knowledge. There are quite a few good ones At the Toss of a Coin, Drake Sterling and Stuart Andersen are my top picks.

Online coins lismore,is Wright, Newcastle coins are but a few I have had the pleasure of dealing with.
Of course without the Purple Penny my coins would be ruined by now

Online Coins in Lismore have a shopfront and are OK,as is the guy in Southport Qld.I'm up Byron Bay way these days and used to deal mainly with Barry Cooper in Ballina but he retired last year due to ill health and the last I heard he was going to live in South Aust.

I usually go to VPCoins as he is the closest Dealer to me and all the staff there are very friendly.

The Purple Penny and Newcastle coins are always great to deal with.

When I was working in the City, I used to go to Colonial Coins and Medals, but I retired in 06 and haven't been to the City since. The fact that I went there multiple times tells me I was happy with their service, but to tell the truth, I can't remember one way or the other.

Some years ago I bought quite a bit off Ye Olde Coin Co, and had no problems with them.
life is a mystery to be lived not a problem to be solved

Ye Olde Coin - have probably the best value purchases in mid range value items. I have bought a lot of items from them.

IS Wright - have auctions every Sunday on ebay and I then go to the Melb CBD store to collect my winnings on the Monday and usually end up buying something else while I am there.

Roxburys - they also have regular ebay auctions and I have been very impressed with their grading. In fact they usually undergrade.
