I got this note a couple of weeks ago and found it odd that there is no Queens head on it, dont have much knowledge of Australian currency so any help will be greatly appreciated.

It looks as if the whole general area around the queens head is blank. This is almost certainly from acetone or someone scraping off the ink. The genuine error notes I have seen with the queens head missing have a very defined line between missing area and the ink.

Yes, and generally when the Queen's head is missing, all of the black ink is missing too.

Thankyou everyone for your advice, iv just recently moved to australia and iv never seen anything like it. I dont understand why people tamper with banknotes as people that deal and collect them are aware of genuine printing errors.

Some of it is done to defraud but I would imagine most of it comes about as a result of boredom.

If I lived in Oz I'd buy it just to give the seller a big old negative feedback, then get a refund for not as described, but it says won't sell to US.

I'm so glad that the author of this post has read it.

(You were logged on yesterday).

I'm also hoping that the Federal Police come knocking on your door shortly.

The bid is up to $5 (with free postage ) and I'm hoping that it stays there as you are about to enter into a legal contract knowing that the item is a fake doctored error and that your excuse that you found it is purely hearsay. The fact that this forum exists proves intent to defraud.

Be sensible, take it to the bank and get them to give you a normal one.

You can then use your $5 to perhaps get a different police record ..... such as Zenyatta Mondatta or Ghost in the Machine, perhaps even Certifiable!
