I can't see any wear, but coin was abused badly (see reverse)..
What are the buyers thinking?

The coin did take a beating but still the buyer didn't pay too much over what a typical Morgan goes for, only by about $5-$6 or so. They didn't do that bad.

Not too often you see a morgan where the reverse is in worse shape than the obverse. She took a pounding.

Hard to imagine that level of damage happened in a mint bag ... I would have to put this coin in an "UNC detail, damaged" grade. Wouldn't pay more than VF/XF type money for it.

Looks like it was the top coin in a bag that took a stagecoach trip from San Fransisco to the east coast.
