It comes down to stupidity on my part. I have yet to figure out how to make my pictures "bigger". While the clarity of the originals are good on my screen when I put them in the sites resizer it changes the file size. The pictures are then small on the site. other folks have these gigundo shots. I thought file size and resolution were married but apparently not. I am using an Iphone so theres another issue. Need to get a digital with a macro or super macro for crisp shots close up but that doesn't get me "big" pictures. I hate being the idiot in the room but I do it well.

Gonna try some things on the "test" site tonight to see If I can get it better.

I picked up these a few days ago. Sorry for the quality of the pics. This is my first picture post.

Looks to me like your camera is focusing on the plastic instead of the coin. Try taking the coin out of the plastic and see if it improves your shots.

For automatic cameras like cell phones, the reflectivity and brightness of the material the coin is sitting on has a big impact on how the camera manages the exposure. That's another thing to play with once you get the focus straightened out. Also, use some kind of rest. Your pics will always be blurry if you are holding the camera with your hand.

I am almost, for sure, certain that we all started out taking "lousy" images. Heck, some of mine still are lousy!

We learn by doing. We just have to keep striving for excellent images by making minor adjustments, taking note of what adjustment we just did, and if that did not work...try something else!
