Quote: I'll gladly email you the MS Word document of the above template for your own use Cheezy, I think I'll take you up on that. I am debating on making my own plexiglass album pages or just to keep my JFK 2X2 set coins where they are. Looking forward to pics of your finished project.

Earle, I'd be glad to make you some custom pages for your Kennedy halves. Just let me know what labels ls you need. I'll try to get pics of my finished project up within the next week... well, finished as in ready to fill 40 more holes!

Actually just send me one of the templates and I will customize it from there. I do, very much, appreciate the offer to make them, but as of right now I am not sure what all I will include. I figure just the template will allow me the most flexibility.

cheezyfries ... mmmmm - good with chili. Very nice. Couple minor things. Kennedy 40% silver "196 5-70" and put the two Seated dollars side by side and the Trade dollar next. You can also consider the 1837 "no stars" dime and Half Dime for future changes. They are easily attainable in your budget and IMHO are a nice design.

Jeffrose, thanks for the detailed review. I made your two corrections. I also thought of two more coins I may add to the mix: the "Type III" SLQ (recessed date) and the 1853 "with rays" Seated Liberty quarter. These seem to reasonably priced varieties. Any opinions on these two being added to a US Type collection? There are lots of other varieties (drapery/no drapery, etc) that could make the album a LOT bigger... Anybody know of others you'd recommend? I'll probably throw a $1 commemorative in there eventually as well, just because the 7070 has one.

Actually, I think I'm going to change the title of my Commemorative section to just say "Commemoratives" and put in whatever half or dollar coins that tickle my fancy. With the number of these that I really like, I have a feeling I'll be expanding that part of the album beyond four slots someday.

Well done. I did something similar for my slabbed type set for which I used the Lighthouse Encapslab pages to hold the slabbed coins.

I have one half dollar hole left, and the one dollar hole is open as well. I am having a difficult time choosing just one coin to fill each hole!

jbuck, my only problem is that I REALLY like the way my page breaks are lined up right now. Only the half dollars spill across multiple pages and adding any more coins is going to mess up my scheme.
I know, I know... good problem to have!

Maybe just give the commemorative coins their own page. Choose your top 20 half dollars and dollars.

How about large sized Capped Bust quarter and dime? These are my favorite and I've always wished they would have slots for these coins. The quarter can get expensive if you go to VF, but they still look really nice at Fine or even problem free VG IMO. The dime shouldn't be difficult to find at a reasonable price.

Here are my random thoughts: 1. I always thought it was weird that 7070 would include a variety as obscure as a VDB penny and NOT have a slot specifically for a post-'82 zinc coated penny. I'm glad you included that, but the label should be Copper-Zinc, not Copper-Nickel. 2. If I had to choose between two different Seated Liberty dollars and one SLD and a Flowing Hair dollar, I would be tempted to pick the latter since the prices aren't that far off. 3. You are displaying ONE example of Statehood Quarters, ALL of the modern penny and nickel varieties, but NONE of the Sacagawea varieties. That seems inconsistent. I applaud your effort. Please take my comments in the constructive manner they are intended. Good luck and show us a progress update from time-to-time. I really like this idea!

Maybe that means I should just add both! Quote:3. You are displaying ONE example of Statehood Quarters, ALL of the modern penny and nickel varieties, but NONE of the Sacagawea varieties. That seems inconsistent. Yeah, I struggled with this one too. I have all of the quarter varieties in their own folder, so I didn't want to duplicate it in my type album. Regarding the small dollars, at a minimum perhaps I should rename the existing one "Sacagawea Eagle Reverse" and add a "Sacagawea Native American Reverse" slot. The tweaking never ends, which is part of the fun of having my album put together this way! Speaking of, I really need to get pictures posted of my and my daughter's progress on this thing up here for you all! At my last count we have ~60 holes filled so far.
