What happen with the other side ? there is a date there.. For sure if you see the other side you can find the date (1969 - 1984)

... actually, CoinStew, some non-commemorative "mule" 50 cent pieces were minted in 1977. According to McDonald there were also some 1988 mules. Exceedingly rare. Hence my "triple yahoo" smilie.

Coinstew .... btw, I wasn't inserting the 1977 and  in relation to your comment. (I hadn't actually seen your mention of 1977). I put it in purely for Enworb and Shane as Shane bought the 1977 COA the other day I believe.
