Very nice IHC . A bit of wear on the diamonds and necklace, as well as the shield in the back. Clean and attractive fields. AU53.

3 diamonds, nice original surfaces, slight wear high points. Another AU53 here.

If the pictures depict the color accurately, I think it would grade EF-45 details. I am not quite sure of the reason, maybe a recoloring, cleaning, or altered surfaces, but the color does not look original to me. It sort of has a tan color whereas circulated original copper coins are typically chocolate brown. If it's just the pictures where it looks tan and looks more chocolatey in hand, it will likely grade problem free though I think short of AU because of the wear on the ribbon and lowest hair curls. Overall, not a bad type set addition.

I'm at EF45 - possibly questionable color, it could be okay, and just the white balance on the camera is throwing us off. But I think a TPG would EF this coin on most days.

Thanks everyone!
I am right there with you all, high XF, low AU.
As far as the color, I do honestly think its the photos. The coin does have nice rich luster, but to avoid glare/shadows in the photos, I held the camera at an odd angle and I think that washed out the luster.
No biggie! Thank you guys for all the grading opinions and I have learned alot on how to grade these coins. This was an impulse purchase as the coin caught dad's and my eye. We had no intentions of looking for a cent, but as dad said, it "spoke to him"!
Have a good week everyone.

I really think it is a great looking IHC. May I ask how much did you pay for it?

good looking cent hondo. the cam is playing tricks with the surface for sure. its like two different colors on the reverse from center to peripherals.

It's beautiful. The color and tone reminds me of tooled leather.

The reverse actually is more accurate than the obverse. The center starts with some nice lustery tone and works its way to the "tooled leather" look on the rim.
The obverse really shows none of the luster, but I kind of like the way it looks in the pics, ha.
I will take another shot at getting accurate pics.
Thanks again for all your responses.

You say the reverse is more accurate of the color. I think this coin is an XF-45 (the ribbon and hair detail has too much wear for AU IMO). In that grade range this coin should not be that color. I believe it has had an old (and reasonably well done) cleaning. I'm not positive, but I wouldn't buy this coin unless it was pretty inexpensive and/or someone assured me that the pictures are deceiving and it has original surfaces.
