The actual 1955 double die cent is very valuable coin, and a "poor man" can't afford it. A machine doubled 1955,like the posted example, is the next best thing that a "poor man" can afford.

A poor man's Doubled Die is hub doubling of the last 5 in 1955. I real 1955 D/D has both 5 of 1955 really doubled on top of both 55 in 1955

Corrections:

a 1955 D/D would be a D over D repunched mintmark. If you mean doubled die obverse, then use DDO.

The "poor man's" double is NOT hub doubling. That's what makes it the "poor man's" double. It's caused by die wear.

There are dozens of dies for 1955 cents that have this abrasion near the edge of the design that causes shadow doubling. This is why they are so easy to find.

Poor man's doubles are NOT Machine Doubling. They are a simple case of die wear and do happen in other years' cents.
