The Chicago World Fair. Wow! I didn't realize that elongated coins dated back that far.

Well-known coin dealer J.H. Cline specializes in Standing Liberty quarters. I stopped by his table at the ANA Money Show in San Francisco in 2005 and he gave me an elongated SLQ! He rolls these himself from low-grade coins and his machine preserves the obverse design including the date. The reverse comes out smooth and shiny with his name and contact information neatly embossed. I thought, it's a shame to waste a collectible coin, but it sure makes a unique business card. I'll post a photo when I have a chance. By the way, my rolled SLQ is a 1927-S! |

Here's that elongated SLQ. It's a 1927-S and I grade it G-4 (squished). This one was apparently made to be handed out at the 1993 ANA convention. I don't know whether Mr. Cline is making any "new" ones, but I'm glad he still had this one to give out in 2005. Enjoy!   |

I rescued this one from the dustpan after my son cleaned his room (it was a very rare occurrence; only happened when his Mom went "nuclear"). Must have been from a visit to the Museum of Science about 10-12 years ago. Pretty cool.  |

They date back allot further than 1933 here are some I have seen on another forum dating back allot further   |

I want to add that some are very very rare like the 1893 cairo street where there is only 2 known to exist as far as I know, I saw a picture of one once but have never seen one in life
