Your word "touched" is an incredibly inadequate and diverting-from-fact word. Mr. Jones was hired as a political advisor - and his political background/stand/current position was well known when he was hired.

I will go no farther. As former teacher of American history, I hate to see medals/coins commemorating problem areas (being nice) such as this. I especially know that people outside the border of our country get a tainted/prejudiced view )ignoring facts) from our mainstream media outlets.

Just as I do not know the actual history behind some of great Britain's Monarchs, when I see their effigy, it does not mean as much to me as it would to someone under the jurisdiction of the British Monarch. Personally, some of my favorite coin designs are Canadian/British b/c of their Monarchs. Canadian nickels are one of my favorite sets.

I also know the Kings/Queens (while not perfect - who is?) of which I have collected were not desiring advice with the evil antithesis and enemy of people who actually understand what freedom has cost us. I felt the facts should be made known and hoped it would spur personal research.

@Johnsderry - If you're happy with your acquisition, great.

I suspect that the item is indeed clad/silver plated.
