This rarity came from the famous glitter fight and at the mint in 93 after everyone got a little tipsy on the floor from an employees birthday celebration... it took a few days to get all the glitter out of the coining presses and some them got mixed with the rest and out into circulation.
There are several color varieties - blue, pink, yellow, mix/rainbow, etc... Watch for fakes as there are some very good chines versions. They have slightly more rectangular pieces of glitter with glitter that doesn't exactly match the color markers from known originals. Cheap fakes usually have circular or star shaped glitter and are easy to spot a mile away. If you plan on sending it in go with PCGS, they have verified the most known examples and the holder will have the "Sparkle" notation added next to the date...
