Hello I have recently been purchasing some commems and have searched for quite awhile trying to find a Isabella Quarter that I actually like since so many are in details holders but I finally found one that I liked so I bought it and would like some opinions on it such as value and what everybody thinks of it. The thing that really made me get drawn to it is the dark toning its in a older ngc holder any guesses to grade would be appreciated. .

I took at peek at Heritage's sold ones and I believe my previous guess is way off. I would venture G / VG on it.

I still like it, though.

It's in a older ngc slab at g6 thanks everyone for guessing what do you think the value would be around I checked pcgs price guide and it puts it at $250 but numismedia doesn't have the price for one in the same grade so I don't know if that's a legit estimate.

I think G6 was an accurate grade based on the wear. I've never seen one this worn.

Value can be very difficult to assign as there are dedicated low-ball collectors. In January 2013, an AG3 sold at Heritage for $587 including the buyers premium. Their next non-details grade were two VF20s sold in 2011 for $218 and $230. I would suspect that yours would appeal to low ball collectors but not quite as much as the AG3 so with the right buyer, you might be able to get more than $250.

Please keep us up to date on what you decide.

Very nice coin me jealous I want one but I have no idea what would be the grade so I'm not gonna try. When I do get one I think I'm going for a slabbed professionally cleaned specimen or A decent price MS62 or better if I can find one reasonable.

Ok thanks all I ended up purchasing it at a pretty good price of $150 so I think I got a ok deal, this one will go into my collection and stay there awhile and I also might get a ms63 example to match my ms63 columbian half dollar. Ill be sure to post more pics when I receive the coin

Voshus007,

https://goccf.com/t/150158

This link takes you to an Izzy quarter that "fell into my lap" a little over a week ago.
Funny thing, just a few days previous I started to search ebay for these coins.

Not pristine, but honest.
Since Charles Barber designed this coin it has special meaning for me.
Good luck on your search for a match to your half dollar.

BTW, do you know where to look for Morgan's initial on the reverse?
Yep, same guy that designed the dollars!

I'm a big fan of honestly circulated classic silver commemorative ... nice coin you have there.

I'll agree with the stated grade of NGC G06 ... your coins matches up well with my PCGS G06 Isabella.

You acquired this one for a nice price ... quite a bit less than I paid for my PCGS example (I submitted mine raw and had to pay the certification fees).

Hoping this coin inspires some level of interest for you in the classic silver series.

The coin has definitely inspired me to open up my collecting into the commems I have 2 columbian halves, 2 stone mountains and a booker t but I really really like the look of the Lafayette dollar and San Diego half those might be the new ones on my search. But who knows all of the classic silver commems are really appealing.
