Quote: Would it be fair to say that the 70's will appreciate more in value in the future than the 69's? For the modern sets like this is assumed that almost any set could be turned into a graded 69 if someone wants. The 70s are the ones that pick up the greatest value if they set picks up value. That said its not apparent that this set will see significant appreciation unlike the only sets. This is the first set where the 70s are actually falling from their issue price and the raw ones are basically still selling for the mint price. Its still to early to judge but the SF set had much better signs going forward at this point

You can't expect the 2013 set to appreciate significantly when these can be bought at issue price from large dealers such as Goldmart..... Wait until next year and we'll see.

I was just doing some window shopping at Goldmart and noticed it costs more to buy the 2013 set in OGP ($169.99) then in graded 69 ($164.99). I don't think I have seen that before.

tpg22 - that is rather funny pricing isn't it. I consider an OGP from a large reseller like them to be coins that probably wouldn't grade well - which adds to the odd pricing. (the OGP theory is miy opinion).

Then again right now everything is going way lower than it should on ebay so that could change come fall. They more than likely picked over them unless they have so many graded 70s left they decided it wasnt worth it. Generally though theres a reason why those arent being sold graded as well

If I was one of those waiting for a shipment from the mint and I could buy a PCGS69 set for $25 over issue price I probably would. It comes with the OGP and all. I see why so many are frustrated with this set.

I got my sets and had to send all 5 back. For the most part the RPs looked nice - despite one of them having a bad scratch on it. All of the enhanced ones were either scratched (some in a couple places), or had a milky white patch on them in different areas. One of them looked as if it had a milky white film all over it. All of the Enhanced pieces has a lot of foreign particles in the capsules - including one with a hair, one with a small piece of red thread, one with a small piece of green plastic, and all of them looked as if the person who put them in capsules had dandruff. I am not talking one or two flakes, it was bad. I compared these to the RPs in the sets and the 'dandruff' was not there. After the last 3 years of having major problems in ordering these sets, the mint has me discouraged in trying to collect these proof ASE's. Maybe I should have gotten a 16-D dime instead.

I'm not going to cancel my sets, but this wait is starting to get ridiculous. How bout the mint at least fix the estimated ship dates.

This set truly test patient of many of us...... I believe the reward will come for those that enduring all of these issues (the time line can be a few years or more though), just looking back in history for those key & semi-key coins of any series (even commemorative coins)....

When the final numbers come out, it will be interesting to see how many sets were canceled. I won't be surprised if there are a lot of cancelations since you can buy them for close to issue price off the bay right now. For now, I just wonder if my set will come in before the 2014 RP is released.

Maybe they can package them together and save on shipping In all seriousness there has to be a good amount of cancellations with how available they are for basically issue price. Last year took a while too but at least they were shipping them, this year just sounds like theyre at a standstill for the most part

I called the mint yesterdoy to ask what the delay is. They told me the company making the nice blue boxes is running behind. They have to wait for these boxes to come in. The mint better get another 3rd party dealer when offering new products.
