SA4H - If they do a Denver mint release sales will plummet.. worst quality control mint they have.

Denver would be cool since its never been done before, but the returns would astronomical with what they put out. There may not be more than a handful of 70s from them either, the last two commemorative halfs theyve made have gotten a total of 1 ms 70 from pcgs combined.

Is it legal for West Point Mint to mint coins with D (Denver) mint mark?
They can just ship the equipment from either SF or WPoint or Philly to Denver.....

As far as I know the mint has never and would never mint a coin at one facility with the mint mark of another. They have (most notably from 1965-1967) gone without mint marks to mask where coins were coming from (because small numbers of coins were coming from WP). "Just shipping" coin presses is no simple task. Denver, being almost exclusively a circulation strike facility, has no systems in place for the production and handling of proof coins. I have no desire to SAEs minted in Denver just so they can have a D mint mark. The other three mints have a history of not only producing SAEs but proof coins as well and there are plenty of variations left to try out before we need to resort to Denver to get something new or unique.

I dont think that would be legal and agree it wouldnt be a good idea. Id be for a D ASE IF they put some system in place for them. If itd be the same that weve seen recently in their commemorative quality Id rather not have it right now

I also don't think they could get away with minting Denver coins in WP or anywhere else. I'd expect a revolt in the mint system if they attempted to do it... I imagine there are politics at play there as well. I'd buy a D coin if they did make one, but I'd expect the quality to be low - based on as stated... the last couple of commemoratives they have issued. TripAces... you picked a good set to grab - I believe. I am honestly looking forward to the coins - especially the new enhanced ASE.

Trip yes they do. The Reverse Proof eagle is one of my favorite coins and I'm very excited to see how the new version looks

From the number of people responded, we have about 181 set bought by CCF members. I'm pretty sure many other CCF members bought the set but did not respond to the poll.
How is this, compare to last year and 2011 set?

My gut is that this is pretty comparable to last year. I bet if you pulled up the 2012 set thread youd see a lot of the same names posting in it

Trip, nice score. You won't be sorry with this set.
I picked up a 3rd set at the bell today. I still have a few months to muddle over my decision and cancel if need be. I wonder how many other people are doing the same thing...
