I'll start by saying mine. I was just collecting coins one day and was on the computer. I was wondering what other coins people had found in circulation, like at MC Donald's or Wall-mart in there change. so I Googled it and a thread from CCF came up. It looked promising so I clicked on it and read the reply's. A couple months later I found out what this site is all about so I made my account. I also looked up US coin facts, mintage's and got the CCF US coin facts and mintage's page which is now in my favourites.

I found this site in exactly the same way.
Curiously, I don't post on any other coin site.

I just happen to like the folks on THIS site.

Did an on-line search to find out some information about a Civil War token I recently purchased and the search engine found it. Soooo glad I did.

I had recently re-started collecting, and searched online for forums to learn all I can about coins. I looked at a few forums, but this one was easier to use, very helpful, and had the largest knowledge base.

Found it just by luck when searching info on a 1867 Canadian Confederation Medal.

So glad to find so many enthusiastic responses here as I'm a kind of oldish ....."newbie"....and so much new info and experts that are out here in CCF land.......

Fun to take part in the questions and answers ...and grading fun..

This is the first and only online forum I have ever been a part of.
I don't do social sites like twitter or facebook.
I found it one day while surfing and decided to join.
Very happy to be a part of this family :-)

I found it by accident when I Googled to find information about a coin I've had for many moons.

BTW, the coin is still a mystery...

Like @vermontensium this is the only forum I belong to and contribute to. Google searches for information I was looking for kept bringing me here so I eventually broke down and signed up.

Much the same as everyone else. after having rekindled a 45 year love/hate I was looking for information on some world silver coins. A google link led me to a thread here about world silver collecting. Having an extensive collection of Pandas, Libertads, Brittanias and others, I joined to try and give the poster what I thought was the benefit of my 40 + years of experience. The poster wanted suggestions of coins for a collection. People were suggesting these wild hard to find and very expensive world 1 ouncers.

I suggested that perhaps he should pick a series to concentrate on so that he could have a collection instead of a random bunch of disassociated silver coins. It would perhaps be a better use of a limited budget and the focus would make him more successful so he would be more wanting to continue in the hobby. The next poster , who had over 1000 posts, posted " Don't you hate when someone asks for suggestions and people think it is alright to post their opinion and try to lead them in another direction "

I remember thinking " what a bunch of jerks on this site " I'll take my "opinions" and years and years of experience somewhere else. I went and joined another site and posted there for a couple of months. After a couple of months I decided to give CCF another chance and have been here exclusively ever since. And hopefully I haven't driven away any new members recently.
Rest in Peace
