Got a hold of a 1894 V nickel in a lot I purchased this week, so I started going through my V's... I had the 1885 and 1886, I knew that, but didn't really have cataloged the others. Most aren't in really high grade, but nice, circulated coins. Seems like I'm only 5 short of the complete set (well 6 incl the 1913) I've been looking for a goal in my numismatitcs for some time now, and I guess I found one that I quite easily can complete Just though I'd share and here, have some fruit...

Thank you for the fruit; you obviously already have enough for yourself.

I actually saw a 1894 in a bargain bin at a show for $2. I should have bought it but didn't know V nickel dates as well as I do now.

I got a 94, 84, 05 and a 10 V nickel, a 1914 and a 1888 dime, plus 4 IHC, all for the nice price of $18. I love the fact that ppl won't buy a lot just because the coins are worn..Actually, the 1894 V is around VF20, so I'm very pleased with the purch ASE

I remember a few yrs ago that I went to my favorite teller and she said that this old gal brought in several rolls of nickles a she saved them for me since I liked coins. I got about 3 rolls of V`s and the rest in Buffalos. The rolls were shorter than normal rolls. The only problem most were worn the best were VG. But I bought her coffee and lunch every so often. Nice to have a friend at your local bank. I still have a 88 V with a 3/16th hole in it

Very nice! ...and I'm with jbuck, I also like my coins to have a little mileage. It shows they were put to use and that they can tell a story.

You know what the best part of being a nickel collector is? If you get a bad deal and say, "if I had a nickel for every time I made a bad coin purchase", you are correct!
