ProfLiz Valued Member United States 373 Posts	Posted 06/07/2013 12:41 pm Very nice looking classic head Half Cent! I really like how the devices pop out, almost an antiqued look. Dirt around the devices with lighter fields can signal cleaning in old copper, but can also occur from normal wear. I can't really tell from these photos. The glossy, almost laquered, surfaces are consistent with an 1835 date, where excellent strikes, and even semi-prooflike appearance, are not uncommon. However, it's very hard to determine from photos whether the surfaces are original. A touch of wear makes me think PCGS probably graded it AU55, though I wouldn't be surprised to see it at AU58. The one question is the rim ding at 12 o'clock. That could net grade it to AU50-53 - or on a bad day, details. Report this Post to the Staff
