I'd appreciate some assistance grading this new arrival. It's an 1808 O-103 R1. I think it has very little wear based on the beautiful toning that I can't pick up with my camera. (I tried using a white background and still wasn't successful)

In the Parsley book he says "Most available specimens of 1808 are weakly struck and with little wear appear to be well worn."

I found this XF45 at Heritage http://coins.ha.com/c/item.zx?saleN...117001#Photo

Opinions on grade please.

Even in view of the expected weak strike I can't_quite get on board with this one at 45. 40? Maybe.

I see a late die stage with a weakish strike in many places but, I'm with Ddave: I see wear also, so, IMO, an EF-40 coin.

The die wear on this old lady is screaming. Agree with moe145. Shes still one classy mama. I would think anyone would be proud to have her in their collection. EF40.

I agree with everybody that it looks 40 with a shot at 45. Overall a nice looking piece. The marks on the neck above and around the clasp concern me. Perhaps they don't look too bad in-hand but could result in a no-grade if they're deep.

XF, cleaned no doubt but most have been and might be market acceptable without hairlines
