Multiple-Errors-1943-D--Steel-Penny?
What kind of errors do you see and how much do you think it's worth?

I can clearly see a Bold Double-D mint mark strike error and a 4-over-3 digit strike error on the date.
Multiple-Errors-1943-D--Steel-Penny?

Thanks,
John

Your coin suffers from the same die wear characteristics as a lot of other steel cents. The dies wore differently that year from any other year because of the composition of the planchets the dies were striking. They did not conduct extensive testing ahead of time and had a lot of problems striking these coins. Your coin is not an error and is worth the same as any other 1943D cent of the same grade.

I'd have to agree with copper. It's not really an error but more of a poor quality die being used. As far as a price the RedBook states a '43D to be around $0.75 in AU. Interesting piece but not interesting enough to get any premium out of it on ebay.

The RedBook does state there's an official Bold-Double D mint mark error. What do you think?

I think the same thing I already said. Your coin is not 1943D RPM#1. It's not an RPM at all, it's not a doubled die at all.

This is 1943D RPM#1:

There is a wider looking D that was doubled but unfortunately this is not one of them to the best of my knowledge.
