A new arrival! What would you all grade this one?

And a extra Brownie point for the first one to ID the Overton. (Hint: it's a pretty easy one, because there's a big giveaway to this Overton when you see it!!)

Thanks for looking!

I won't venture a grade, but will say it sure is pretty and wish it were in my 7070!

I'm going to leave this Overton to someone else; it's too easy.

This is a nice, sharply-struck example, so I'm going to be harder on it than I might otherwise. The clasp is weak but the hair is strong. Let's call it EF40.

0-108 "Pincer 8" variety, just like mine. I'll go along with EF-40 and surfaces look pretty original. In addition to the little openings at the top of both 8's this variety has two fused denticles between 0 and C of 50 C. on the reverse.

I'll be a downer and just can't get it to 40. VF-35 for me. Obverse = EF-40. Reverse = VF-30. Beautiful coin. I would welcome into my collection.

I'd pay 40 money for that one and yes those open 8's are a variety recognition factor even if one is not knowledgable about Overton numbers. I see a fair amount of 1818's at local shows but have yet to claim one. I heart original surfaces even if they are as dark as a midwest thunderstorm. There seem to be six cleaned specimens out there for every unmolested one.

I've always wanted an O-108 Pincers 1818 CBH! And then somehow this one found me.

Thank you all for the kind words.
