first impression...AU55. Can you post closeup of the obverse I'm seeing some doubling of some letters. not sure if its just the camera angle or lighting.

It's just the pic, there's no doubling.

Would like to see this IHC in hand and under a loupe. The reverse high details are a touch smooth. ....which could be from worn dies.

Not something that I enjoy mentioning, but I think it may be not genuine. The first thing I noticed was the date did not look right especially the 8. Second thing, if I remember correctly, the shallow N reverse was used on all pre-1870 Indian cents and did not begin using the bold N reverse until 1870. Yours appears to have a bold N's. Here's one from PCGS coinfacts for comparison.

the 8 is very small in the original coin and indeed looks suspect. Close up picture of date?

At first glance, something looked off to me. The 8 looks wrong, and also 3 of the 4 diamonds are missing, and I'd expect to see them with this level of wear.
Something might also be wrong with the upper part of the shield.

The weight is 2.86 and the rim is sharp and not worn at all.

The guys really nice and gave me permission to remove it from the 2x2 so I could take pics. From the moment I laid my eyes on it I thought it was fake. Especially the reverse, Acloco nailed that one. It almost looks like something was painted on but done really well or almost well lol. I told the guy I was gonna post it here and he was totally fine with that. It was in a lot of five coins and I took a shot. Sadly it has to go back. I could probably sell it for a bunch but I just couldn't live with myself if I did.

Nah I got it off ebay and I was hoping it was better than the one in my album but it wasn't. I was gonna flip it but pretty dang sure its fake so it's going back.

So many collectors would have been taken by this coin. Good eye for suspicious details and you're very fortunate to have bought it from the collector/dealer you did.

Of all the details to screw up on a counterfeit, they mess up the date. If they had the date right, this would have fooled many many more people.

awesome catch D0ubl3Eagle. my first thought was worn dies and the "8" didnt send up any flags as I just thought it might have been a variety for this year. the good news...I now have more knowledge for future reference
