We have four banknote issuing banks

Danske Bank (Formerly the Northern)
Bank of Ireland
Ulster Bank
First Trust Bank

One of the quirks of history that such a small place retains the ability to have so many different banknotes circulating (English and Scottish banknotes also circulate freely here - even notes from Isle of Man and Jersey etc are happily accepted).

I too happily accept notes from NI, England, Scotland and the Isles - when I can get them!
NI and Scotland are certainly lucky in the variety of notes issued. Far more interesting than the Bank of England issues (as in the lack of variety over the years).
