Recent pick up in a problem-free PCGS holder. What would you have graded it?

A chance to make a fool of myself first. My guess would be AU-55:I am thinking it is a reflection near the top star on the left. It has fantastic eye appeal.

I agree with EddieDiz! And from his amazing eye for medievals, I believe he's being modest about ever making a fool of himself! I also agree this is an easy AU-55 coin. (I can also see this, possibly, getting a deserved, IMO, AU-58). I, simply put, love this coin!

AU53. Looks all original. Just a beautiful coin to find in this condition

Nice sharp coin. AU-53 only because of lack of luster.

I'm going to be honest and say I felt AU-50 tops on this one. Probably way off but that's the feeling I get from it. That being said, I can see paying AU-55+ money for it due to the un-be- -lievable eye appeal. Definitely a green bean candidate.

I'll go with AU-50. I would not be surprised if it graded 1-2 grades higher. A beautiful original looking coin!

I'll be the minority here and say EF45, as that was my first thought, the coin looks like it could go AU pretty easily too. The cheek and neck area look almost MS but I see wear on the hair above the ear and scuffs in the fields.

westcoin called it. Good example of PCGS' luster requirement for AU not being met. An NGC 50 or even 53 downgraded by PCGS for lack of luster. Not that I disapprove of the grade, it's just conservative. Thanks for the guesses and comments!
