Are those run over by a train or elongated cents? Either, I suppose. I was thinking of the ones you put a penny in a machine with two quarters, turn the crank, and get a souvenir elongated penny back.

struck through grease/debris. Some of the pricy ones include struck through cloth/wire/wood. I've seen people talking about a " Greaser" when referring to an error coin. I don't understand what that means. Is there a reference that explains how that happens?

I know you are interested in an error list, but maybe a Error type set of all U.S. Coins.

I've never seen one of the machines. Probably need to get out more.

You find them at tourist traps. Neat looking machines. They really do a number on the copper/zinc cents. The copper ones are better to use as they don't expose the zinc, like the Zincolns do.

Here is a comprehensive listing of all known types of errors and varieties. http://www.error-ref.com/Error_and_...ck_List.htmlAfter 17 years, I'm still working on acquiring an example of each entry. I'm also still adding new (or newly identified) error types.
