This might be a fun thread - post your coin showing someone with an impressive beard - I'll call it the Mr Beardy thread - (to be modern and PC it really doesn't have to be a "Mr" though I suspect most images will be). Extra kudos for unusual designs or something that really lifts the beard out of the ordinary. I'll kick off with this one. Friedrich Franz II Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Schwerin 1870 1 Thaler Ob. FRIEDRICH FRANZ V. G. G. GROSSH. MECKLENG. SCHW. Rev. EIN THALER XXX EIN PF. F. 1864 Edge: PER AIPERA AD ASTRA Silver 0.9000 Weight: 18.52g, 33mm mintage: 100,000 Mint: Berlin A Frederick is shown with the popular at the time "mutton chops" beard though in real life he did sport a full one from time to time. Please post a facially hirsute image you have in your collection :)

LOL OK, I like this one of Charles I of England from 1647 because it kinda reminds me of Stinky Pete from Toy Story!

Some excellent examples of face furniture there - I thought Mexico's Maxillilian would make an appearance - William II (Netherlands) is an unusual one - I can't imagine why that went out of fashion... And Victor Emanuele has certainly put a lot of effort into his - very "Cavalier" - obviously taking tips from Charles I there :)

OK, so it's a token; but it's also one heck of a beard.
