Just thought I would share my latest upgrade.. Some would call it blast white ... Hes a gem for sure has a few light contact marks, but loaded with luster ..Much brighter than the pics show.... I figure MS 60 for sure might get lucky and get a 62 ?

Definitely a mint state coin, but a real shame that it has been dipped to death. Most mint state Edward 50c coins have a soft matte-like surface to them, and do not have mirror-like devices. What impresses me most, however, is the strength of the strike. Can you show a picture of the rim? A voice in the back of my head is telling me it could be specimen strike...?

Very nice Edward half indeed. Very scarce in higher grades. Nice strike with great lustre. If sent to PCGS or ICCS I don't see this coin coming back with any details or cleaning notations. The strong original lustre of this coin may get you a MS60 but I don't think it will get a 62 because of the contact marks especially on the reverse. Very nice find and thanks for sharing.

Ahh.... the second batch of photos shows the finish I am used to, definitely not a specimen strike. Did you have the flash on your camera for the first pics?
Nice coin, fully struck, looks like a possible MS-63.

Could we get another shot of the reverse? Something looks off about it in the picture.

The numerous lines and the darkness in the center of the reverse.

Thanks. Still looks a bit dead on the reverse (likely from being dipped), but not cleaned. Should MS60 or maybe 62 at ICCS depending how the lustre looks in hand. AU-58 is possible if they decide that the lack of lustre on the reverse is from circulation though.
Let us know what it grades :)
