Looks to me like a copper halfpenny of George III - of the type issued from 1770 to 1775. The reverse should show the figure of Britannia facing left with the date below. Farthings were also issued to a similar design - the farthing has a diameter of about 22mm whereas the halfpenny is about 30mm. There are lots of contemporary forgeries of these coins and I'm no expert on them.

Definitely George 111 to me, but the style looks quite strange.
Goldish colour, not copper.
Gambling counter? - Looks to be a bit roughly made to be a genuine coin.
What is the weight?

If you have problems finding an accurate weight, take it to your local pharmacist, or give to a high trusted high school student to have it weighed in the students' science lab.

The combination of golden colour and Canada makes me think Tiffin or Blacksmith token?

You know, looking at this I'm really thinking this may be the Machin's Mills obverse variety Vlack-13. Would very much like to see the reverse in that case, as this could be either an imitation George III halfpenny, OR a Connecticut Copper mule!

This is definitely a Machin's Mills issue as noted by the triangular denticles along the obverse periphery.
Do you have a reverse pic?

Okay, curiosity is getting the better of me on this one. I think I know which Machin's Mills obverse variety this is, and if we can ever get a peek at the reverse, I predict it will be one of the following, from the four different coins minted with Vlack-13.

Rare:
Vlack 13-78b, one of the many imitation British halfpence made by Thomas Machin between 1787 and 1789 in his Newburgh, NY mill (though backdated with a 1778 date):

Georgis-IV-Coin...?

Rarer:
In the waning days of production at Machin's, as the newly-adopted US Constitution (which reserved coinage to the federal government) marked the end of state and private mints, it's thought some last batches of coins were made using whatever dies were still around. Many of the dies weren't meant to go together, like in Vlack 13-88CT, a marriage of the "George III" Vlack-13 obverse, and the "Independence and Liberty" 1778 Connecticut copper reverse:

Georgis-IV-Coin...?

Count-'em-on-one-hand-rare:
Vlack 13-87CT, the other Connecticut copper mule with obverse 13, this one with a 1787 date:

Georgis-IV-Coin...?

And then there's this:
There are 39 unanimously accepted varieties of Vermont coppers out there. That was, until Ron Guth (of PCGS) found what he dubbed Ryder 40 in the National Numismatic Collection at the Smithsonian, a coin with this Machin's Mills Vlack-13 obverse, apparently paired with a 1788 Vermont copper reverse. Other specimens have appeared since, but were apparently thought "questionable." This is the only pic I could find of it, from Ron Guth's own CoinFacts website:

Georgis-IV-Coin...?

I've tried to PM wert, to get his (or her?) attention back to this thread, and flip his daughter's coin over to give us a look, but it didn't go through. Perhaps someone could send up a flare over Canada!

Thank philadelphian ;)

Yeah, if you can provide a reverse picture,
that would be great to further ascertain what it is.
Here is some educational background on the Machin's Mills issues.
