Remember, if you sell a $100 note on ebay, you get REAMED with fees. If it sells for, lets say $130, here's the breakdown:

9% goes to ebay fees
2.9% + $0.30 goes to paypal (owned by the same people)
Plus your cost of supplies to send
plus shipping
plus having your money tied up
plus your time

The fees apply to shipping now, so it doesn't matter if the shipping was included in the price or separate. This is because people decided to save on ebay fees back in the day by switching the shipping charge and actual cost. Instead of a $15 item with $2 shipping, they would sell a $2 item with $15 shipping. This makes the policies more expensive for sellers.

So for the $130, lets assume free shipping was on the listing.

So take the 9% + 2.9% = 11.9%
$130 x .881 = $114 - 0.30 = $113.70
- about $4 more in shipping, packing materials, and tracking= $110
The average car gets 21mpg. gas is just under $4 in many places. Assume the post office is about 5 miles away, uses 1/2 gallon of gas round trip -$2 more. That makes:
$108 - $100 FV=.........

That means you would make an $8 profit if you could sell the note 30% over FV.

These calculations are what make me want to get out of ebay. Imagine making $8 for all that effort? Less money than working at wally world.

Only sell something like that if you want the ebay ratings to get you ready for a more profitable sell.

Good point. ebay isn't a good option for this.

Yeah, basically if the FV is higher than the premium by a big margin, ebay has a field day and you get robbed.
