Very nice! May be my eyes playing tricks, but what is that to the left of the left knee and to the right of the right knee. Looks like an "E" counter-stamped on the left, and a partial "1" and a "2" on the right side? There also looks to be a blemish of some type on the eagle extending from the tail through the body up to the eagle's head...

Nice coin, looks AU-58 to me as I am seeing some very slight wear on the high points. Not crazy about the hit on the wall below God.

Dave H - you are absolutely correct. There is an E and 2 stamped on the obverse.

This coin does not look quite right. Believe IndianGoldEagle is correct - AU58....probably come back in a details holder for cleaning.

There is luster, but only next to the high points.

Bet they are calling this FH as well? Yes, it is, but the shield/rivets are very mushy.

Is this being sold as MSxx FH? Or? AU/Details/Counterstamped 2x?

I did a bit of digging but could find no other counterstamp like that. It is awfully small compared to the usual counterstamp seen. The reverse shows no sign of counterstam\ping the front, might have used a leather surface to stamp on. It's defintely strange.

The counter stamps look like a die strike from the reverse. The E is from the E in E PLURIBUS, and the 2 is from the inverted S. It also looks like a little bit of feather tip to the left of the middle star on the left side. This would also explain why there is no evidence of the counter stamp on the reverse.

All that being said, the die strike image is farther from the edge of the coin than the E PLURIBUS on the reverse. So, I don't know.....

Susuman - intersting, that would be the ultimate "E" clash then? I know how popular E reverse clashes are in VAM Morgan dollars. I would also believe that a clash that could produce that would leave a lot of other clashing marks which I don't see on this coin. Very strange.

Okay so a little internet searching turned up a bunch of these clashed SLQ which I had no idea existed before seeing this one.

The above link is also an unc MS61FH with the clash showing. Sold for $350+ in 2008. Great that CCF makes me want to search out an answer to a strange item on a coin. Gotta keep my eyes out for some of these SLQ clashes in the future, very neat!

Looks good to me, but at this value level, it needs to be confirmed, unless the seller has an unpeachable reputation.
Note well the observations of those before me. Perhaps more research needed.

This one is going to be interesting!
