I found a 1949-D nickel in my drawer last night when I was counting down my change. Does it have any importance/value? It has pretty good detail on the front and back, but has definitely been circulated.

I'm sorry...is there a page that explains the abbreviations? I'm very inexperienced with coin lingo, and most of what I just looked at was like reading French. Thank you :)

K... Sorry about sideways pictures. I'm too lazy to start up my ancient computer, so I'm doing this all from mobile. I found a 1952 also, but not as good quality. They both have traces of black stuff around the letters and images.

Barring any varieties or errors (as I really cant get a good enough look from that picture), to answer your original question, value wise on those you are at roughly face value.

It's not worth big money but I would save it --- 49-D is a better date Jefferson nickel even in circulated grades.

What about a 1941? I seem to find years outside the War Nickel range. It's quite frustrating.

According to U.S Coin Prices June 2013 the 1949-D in extra fine retails for 40 cents but your coin does not grade that high. So most would say it is worth 20-25 cents. 36,498,000 were minted.
The other one in your picture (1952) is face value due to its worn condition. Spend it!

A 1941 would be worth saving if it grades VF-20 or above maybe down to F-12. The reason you don't find the War Nickels (all 1943-45 and some 1942) is that because they are 35% silver they get pulled out for bullion.
