CSOTUS Pillar of the Community 1153 Posts	Posted 07/28/2013 3:16 pm Greetings all. I wanted your opinion on a coin that I found on craigslist. I have not been doing this long enough to know off the bat if something appears fake or genuine. This is an 1829 Capped Bust half dollar. Appears to me that it is around VF20? Seller is asking $50.. mysilveryears Pillar of the Community United States 1888 Posts	Posted 07/28/2013 7:14 pm It's a bit hard to tell from those photos if it's genuine or not, but with the benefit of the doubt, it looks like an average, somewhat crusty coin with $50 being on the high side of its value. This, along with environmental damage would earn it a details grade. As far a authenticity, I can't tell from the photos provided. Regardless, it would be a no buy for me. CSOTUS Pillar of the Community 1153 Posts	Posted 07/29/2013 09:50 am Yeah it's been on craigslist for a few weeks at least now, I have never contacted the seller, but figured he might be willing to negotiate if he keeps refreshing the post on craigslist.
