So, I've had this dime in my collection for at least 20 years, the toning just seems to get darker and darker. But was interests me, and hopfully you as well, the last digit of the date is missing. Under higher magnification there are no marks that suggest that the last digit was ever there.

Tell me what you think?

It's a Grease Filled Die, with the last digit missing..I would guess it may be a 1

What effigy is on the front. You can at least narrow down your search. If it is George VI then I would go with a 2. If it is Elizabeth then a 3, 8, or 9.

It's an Elizabeth, so would have to be 1953 or after. It is interesting what comes out with the photography on this one.

Interesting how the 1 ish line in the first pic does not show up at all in that "special scan"..

How does that scan show so much porosity when compared to the regular closeup photo....?
