Going to do a bit of CRH.

What varieties of dates should I keep my eye out for?

The obvious ones would be 1926 both near and far 6, & 1925. 1953 has many valuables as well....SF Far leaf, NSF near leaf. Anything 1951-1954 missing chrome. 1951 High relief. 1932 far 2. although it is not very valuable the 1948 is a tough year to find. For others check.........

Like artdio said 1964 Extra water line is a good one to watch for.......as well as 1965 Large beads.

And keep the pre-1982 nickel nickels - surely there's someone crazy enough to buy 'em near you and they're worth about 7 cents each.

Both 1970 and 1991 have a low mintage.

Always enjoy the 47 dot and they are still around as that effigy is still easily found.

Pointless though... I doubt anyone has ever found a 5-cent silver in a coin roll hunt...

I keep anything 1962 and back. I also keep 2000P, 1964 extra water line, 1965 large beads along with any hole fillers or upgrades. I am close to the border so I also watch out for the American wartime nickels (1942-1945). They are easy to spot with a large mint mark above the Monticello on the reverse.
I also keep any 1963-1982 nickel nickels and sell them when I accumulate enough($20-$25). Happy hunting!
