I remembered some photos I took on my trip to the Bank of Montreal Museum in 2009 and thought I'd share. Although not a big museum, I'd recommend it as a stop if you're in Montreal. As an ex-employee of the bank, it brought back memories and was cool to see the design on so many of the bank's devices in person on the building.

I just saw somewhere that the Ottawa museum is closing for 3 years! Maybe I can check out the Montreal one soon.

Very thoughtful. As someone interested in built structures on numismatic material it was good to see your point of view about the BoM building.

Thx.

That's the building on their pre-confed tokens?

Where did you see the information regarding the closure of the Ottawa Museum? I've never been there and I'd like to arrange myself a visit some time next year.

It can't be the same building as the Lower Canada "side view" tokens of 1839 or the Province of Canada tokens since, I believe, this building wasn't built until 1847. The Bank of Montreal is Canada's oldest operating bank. I'm unsure of the location of the building on the tokens.

I can't believe that, that building is the BMO museum. If I'm not mistaken this is the one across Notre Dame? If so the map said it was like military arms building until now... I was in Montreal last week, this would have been one of my highlights!

It is basically across from Notre Dame.
