That's right! This thread is the place to show off the best of your collection! Coins, errors, tokens, paper money, anything is allowed here as long as you have it in your collection! Make sure you upload pictures, have fun, and enjoy! I'll start with my favorite coin and bill: A beautiful blue-and-gold toned 1984 Proof British 5 pence (toning is more vibrant in person) and A Confederate $2 bill dated June 2, 1862. There's a bit of a story behind the $2 bill (which is why it's my favorite). I found it at a coin club auction and won it for $48. The date on that bill, June 2, just so happens to be the same as my birthday (June 2, 1995). It was the best auction I ever won!

I really don't have one favorite coin. This has been asked in the past and I never was able to choose one over others. At times I think it could be a Dime, other times a Cent, etc. Just to many coins to have a best of favorite. The way I look at it is if I had thosands of kids, could never choose one over the others.

I know this has been done before, but this time I'm hoping everyone will see it and have some fun. It doesn't necessarily have to be your above-all favorite, just something that you want to show off to everyone or something you love looking at. If that still chalks up a zero, just upload a random picture and a short explanation about what it is and how you got it. Hope that helped!

I like this 1800 Draped Bust Dollar because of its toning.

My favorite coin is the first coin I received trading with a friend (that I met on this site!) I love it because it's thick (about 3 mm) and because it's a lovely scene. It depicts the Badshahi Mosque, one of the biggest in the world, and for centuries, the largest in Pakistan. I can't wait to see what else people will submit, and loved seeing everyone's so far!

1598 Polish 3 Grossus (also called Groschen or Trojak). Not an overly expensive coin or in particularly great condition. I just love that it's silver, over 400 years old and the details in the face of Sigismund III.

Ooh, er! That's a difficult one jlgaudlitz! My favourite tends to change depending on my mood I'm afraid. But this one is usually up there with the top few. Not because it's perfect (although the fact that it's on a full flan with the majority of the edge beading visible is unusual for this hand made series) but as much because it shows up many of the problems with British hammered coinage! It's a shilling (about quarter of a dollar) of Charles I of England, dating from between 1639 and 1641 and made at the Tower of London mint. The planchet has jumped between strikes, leading to some doubling of the legend lettering, the middle is thinner than the edges so the central design hasn't come up as crisply as the edges, the die was rusted and cracking and likely broke up soon after this coin was made. However there's very little actual wear, it's centrally struck on a broad full flan and has nice old toning. Pretty cool I think!
