I have been looking at the PCGS photograde and their XF coin standards seem to be a little low compared to mine. I look for separation of the tassel from the near by curl but also look at details in that curl. It appears that the tassel is a little broken in the PCGS photo-grade but I tend to look for no separation but diamonds are not full. For instance I am comparing this coin that looks closer to the XF coins but I consider it to be VF-35. Would you agree it is VF-35?

I like your web site for selling coins. It's set up well, clear, and easy to access.

I would grade this coin at VF30/35 if it were my coin. So yes I agree with you on it.

I think over all it might be XF. It's somewhat hard to see all the details but the reverse looks sharp especially the leaves, and the obverse still has a lot of details in the feathers. Its one of those borderline cents I guess.

I'll give it a 30. Definitely not XF IMHO.

buddy16cat...you cant just look at one or two devices to determine grade. grading must also take into consideration strike, surface, eye appeal and if MS, luster. borderline VF35

It misses XF in my opinion, and doesn't have a great eye appeal either.

The eye appeal would improve if I used Verdi-care on it. Not sure if it be worth the effort since the coin is only worth a few bucks at the VF+ grades.

The coin to me looks like a VF20
