Just got this one. I think it is pretty nice. XF 40 or 45? Thanks Jerry http://www.ebay.com/itm/Large-cent-...#ht_23wt_905

I think this is just hair short of 45. I would go with 40. surfaces and color looks good. pics never tell the whole story so once its in hand you'll know better. you got a pretty good deal on this one.

I thought it looked pretty good for that price. Shipping charges were high but since he lives in my hometown maybe we can skip shipping altogether.

I had this large cent on my watch list. I meant to see which variety it was because the '1' appears re-punched at the top. I agree with panzaldi about being a hair short of XF45. The only concern is it appears that there's a weird discoloration on the reverse around the word 'one', it could just be the seller's camera. Either way it would still be a good deal.

I also think it's a nice EF40 example.

picked up the coin tonight. Pics did this coin no favors. Looks much better in hand. Especially the reverse. No whitish spot on coin. Seller was taking pics of it in an intercept holder and flash or lighting made it look that way. Beautiful coin I am very happy with! :)

Nice coin and price!

XF40 for me. Are you working on your Large Cent Dansco?
That's my never ending project. Loving it :-)

The fun part is obviously getting the coin then dropping it into it's slot.

I saw a large album for sale recently by american rarites I think on ebay. Something like 90 coins in it. All different grades mostly lower than vf that was for sale recently for 4900. Thought about asking if they would trade them for a 1893S Morgan vf25 grade. Have not asked them yet though.
