just picked up this 1805 bust dime for my type set. paid $115 and wanted to get folks thoughts on if this was a decent deal. I value all of your opinions so feel free to comment. thanks for looking

This is a super tough coin and type. I think you got a great deal.

I like that you can see all the design details - not always true for fair coins.

And although it's a details coin, to me the obverse scratches are just part of its history. It's not surprising that a coin this well-used might accumulate some scratches.

A similar coin (NGC JR-2 Fair Details, damaged and not close to yours in terms of eye appeal) hammered for $146.88 at Heritage last month. I'd call that a hint.

I don't plan on selling this coin and would really like to break it out to put in my album...whats your thoughts on doing that?

It's a very nice example of a FR2. I've seen less detailed examples gor for more and with less eye appeal, like a cleaning.
You did good :-)

I was searching through the sold listings for these and found this one had recently sold for $183. Someone just took a whackin. I guess I done good

What type set album do you have that has a slot for a draped bust dime? Or are you making your own type set?

I have an old blue Whitman small type coin album with sliders. I bought it back in the 70's.. it has 58 slots for Half Cents through quarters
