Nice - and you can post the same photos again in 5 days' time on the 65 Days of Half and Large Cents thread! 1817 1c is my oldest US coin too!

Okay that last post was accidentally posted, but I thought that I'd just get just because the price seemed good. I noticed the scratches, the DINGS, and substantial wear.

I love your enthusiasm, unfortunately there is NO value to this coin. Net grade is -POOR, this coin has NO value. You paid $9.26 too much, it's value is 1 cent. Do yourself a favor and try to get a better looking LC next time. Good luck!

She's been rode hard and put away wet, but it's still cool. As mentioned above, think about all of the people that have handled this coin. Thomas Jefferson may have bought a Coke with this coin, ya know? Congrats and keep it up!

No, it's not an awesome start unfortunately. CC2000 could have paid $10-$20 more and would own a nice looking LC. This was just a zero. There's millions of junk coins that have been places and done things and there is still no value or nothing pretty or unique or desirable about them. To each their own. CC2000, please don't take offence, there's so many nice coins out there, you don't need to settle for an example like the one you just purchased.

1893S I get what you are saying but honestly I don't care, I love this coin already and it already has more value to me than $0.

And I'm also 13, so I don't exactly have all the money in the world.

All that should matter is that YOU like the coin.
