My daughter and I reached a mini-milestone over the weekend. Our Lincoln Cent collection was only missing the key & semi-key wheat cents, plus 2 of the 7 1982 varieties. A buddy of mine that started getting into collecting but lost interest said "I put a bunch of 1982's into a cup, you can sort through them if you'd like." Sure enough, he had the two 1982 varieties we were missing! We now have all Lincoln Cents except for the following wheats: - 1909S-VDB - 1909S - 1909VDB - 1910S - 1911S - 1912S - 1913S - 1914D - 1914S - 1915S - 1922D - 1924D - 1926S - 1931S I guess the next step is to look at which ones we want to upgrade.

A 1909 VDB is relatively cheap. If you have an ebay account you can get one easy.

If there are any coin shows or coin stores in your area you should be able to pick up many of your missing ones rather cheap.

I sent Ella a 1909 VDB with a normal 1909 awhile ago Cheezy - was that a typo?

Quote: I sent Ella a 1909 VDB with a normal 1909 awhile ago Cheezy - was that a typo? We actually put that 1909 VDB into our US Type Collection album, Earle42. Ella still enjoys trying to read the little VDB letters on the back of that coin! I'll pick up another VDB sometime to fill the hole in this folder. They're not pricey as others have noted, I just haven't gotten around to it. I could probably get that and about six other cents we don't have for ~$10 each, but we were trying to get all the other holes filled first.

Congrats! It's a difficult project...more so than most realize.
