So I've got a coin in a graded holder that's a listed overdate (like 1942/1-d, not an obscure one) but it's not listed on the holder. I'm going to cross it over to PCGS, however I'm not sure exactly how to do it on their online form. Do I:
a) put the date as it appears on the original holder (i.e. 1942-d)
or
b) put the date as it should be on the original holder (i.e. 1942/1 - d)
I'm guessing that this has come up before, just wasn't sure how to handle it, as the form only provides one date. Thanks!

You will need to pay for variety attribution service, but take some close up pictures and upload it here so we can help confirming it before submission.

Ok, thanks for the help, just wanted to make sure that I was doing it right. It's definitely an overdate, just slipped through the cracks I guess.

The 1942/1-P and D Mercury dimes are major varieties, you do not need to pay an extra $24 for the attribution unless you also want the FS number listed. As an example, the 1972 DDO-001 Lincoln is a major variety but the other 13 DDOs for 1972 would require the attribution service and $24 fee. One of two things have happened- it is either a typographical error on the label(happens more often than TPGs want to admit) or you are mistaken about the variety. Got pics?

Since I'm an ANA member I use NGC as my TPG. Saves the cost of joining. Anyway I just got a slabbed 1809 Half Cent, "o in 0" variety which I needed to complete my Class Head Half Cent set. The attribution was not on the holder so the original owner probably missed it and didn't get it attributed. And the TPG (NGC) didn't do it either, probably because it wasn't requested. In other words that attribution was not automatic with them. So I sent it in and it now is definitely attributed -- and my set is complete.

Yep, the attribution is now on the slab. I don't have an image of the new label.

How about the serial number on the label?

Quote: How about the serial number on the label? Better yet, IF I can do this correctly you can see my whole NGC Registry Set for my Classic Head Half Cents. If you're not familiar with looking at the Registry Sets, click on the "eye" in each row to see the images. https://coins.www.collectors-societ...eSetID=89446

Wow Kanga - Those are some seriously sweet Half Cents, thanks for sharing them with us! I hope I can come close to having a set as nice as your someday! In the meantime, I'll just bide my time searching for a nice affordable specimen once in awhile and reading about them as I go along. P.S. Your 2¢ collection is also very nice!
