So yeah, just won this coin in an auction: As you can see it has some amazing Blues and Red Iridescent Toning. Since this coin is fairly easy to search up, I ask that you give you opinion on Grade as well as FMV (What you would pay for it) before you go searching. All opinions are appreciated. Thanks!

Through the picture, the toning looks like it might decrease the value of the piece. If I gave it a grade, I would say MS-62 or MS-63. Also the reverse in the picture is reversed.

Ya just realized that the picture is reversed. I don't think that the picture will hinder the grading of the coin so I'll keep it like that for now. Anyways, why do you think that the toning will reduce the value? Are you implying that it is artificially toned? ANACS does not designate it as such; anyways the toning looks quite attractive to me. More opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I will say MS-62 or MS-63 based on what looks some light scratches or hairlines (are they on the coin or holder?). Value I would take a shot in the dark at $500. Nice coin in any case

I think the blue coloring on the reverse leads to an AT but it is probably okay and would slip through with out a detail for toning, the scratch on the reverse though is what hurts this 3CS. I'll go MS63, without the scratch MS64+

I do not think that the toning hurts this coin. I also do not think that it is AT. The toning is very similar to some 3 cent coins that I had that were stored in a 2x2 yellow envelope for a minimum of 50 years (perhaps much longer). Two of them I had graded by PCGS and both came back with good grades. In hand, the toning is quite pretty.

Nice! Once these get into the MS range I have problems grading them - I would wager MS 63 from ANACS. From those pictures, I think the toning is natural. Could be a rare reverse-reverse . Nice pickup !

I'm not too good at grading 3cs so I probably going to get this wrong but I am going to guess AU-58. The luster on the ridges of the star looks a bit disturbed and dark though it could be MS and the toning just makes it look like there is wear.
